Define the monitoring requirement
Identify the cameras, event types, schedules and priority areas to be covered. Scheduled patrols, event review and other monitoring arrangements are not interchangeable. Ask the proposal to state what is included for each part of the site.
Separate setup from ongoing service
A solution may involve assessment, installation, network changes, analytics configuration or onboarding. The ongoing service may cover monitoring and support within an agreed scope. Check these categories separately so that the first-year cost is understood.

Check infrastructure and retention
Compatible existing cameras may be reusable. Some views may need repositioning or replacement for a specific task. Recording settings and retention also affect storage requirements. Do not assume cloud storage, equipment upgrades or unlimited footage are included in a per-camera figure.
Clarify support and response
Ask who handles camera faults, connectivity issues and maintenance. Define the difference between reporting an incident and arranging physical response. Confirm the escalation contacts and any separate service obligations in the proposal.
Compare equivalent proposals
Use the same camera list, operating hours and reporting requirements when comparing providers. Note exclusions, installation costs, contract duration and change procedures. Potential savings depend on the final scope and should not be treated as guaranteed.
Request a current assessment
Start with general information about your environment and service priorities. Avoid sending passwords, security procedures or sensitive layouts through a public website form. AI Monitor can agree an appropriate route for detailed technical information as the assessment progresses.
